DOMIQ x Dali
The DOMIQ DALI Light module integrates the DALI bus with the entire DOMIQ system logic. Dimming, groups, scenes, and global control—from a single apartment to an office building, production hall, or skyscraper. No expensive lighting control platform or separate control system required.
Up to 21 DALI segments in a single DOMIQ system. Connect lighting with KNX, LCN, alarm, HVAC, energy, scheduling, and more—and control it all with a single logic.

What is DOMIQ × DALI?
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) to międzynarodowy standard cyfrowego sterowania oświetleniem. Zamiast osobnego obwodu dla każdej grupy opraw, wszystkie oprawy w segmencie pracują na jednej, dwużyłowej magistrali — a każda z nich ma własny adres i jest sterowana indywidualnie.
DOMIQ DALI Light is a bidirectional DALI bus interface. You connect it to the DOMIQ Base 2.0 central module, and it handles up to 64 ballasts: addresses them, dims them, groups them, executes scenes, and—just as importantly— >reads their status back: current brightness, ballast failure, luminaire power failure.
New in system 3.0.6.0: support for multiple DALI segments. Each DOMIQ DALI Light module, along with the ballasts connected to it, creates a separate segment. You can create 21 segments—up to 1,344 luminaires controlled from a single system, from a single application, with a single logic.
This isn’t a separate “lighting system” alongside the building automation. It’s the same DOMIQ installation that also controls the heating, blinds, air conditioning, alarm, and energy—only with full, digital lighting control inside.

The biggest advantage of this solution doesn’t lie in the DALI itself. It lies in the fact that DALI is integrated into the same logic that powers the rest of the building.
In the DOMIQ system, lighting is a fully-fledged automation participant: it can be triggered by any event and can itself trigger others. An event from the alarm control panel, a reading from an energy meter, a time from a schedule, a button press on the panel, a command from the app, the status of the KNX bus, a value from a Modbus device—any of these can control lighting in any combination of conditions.
Lighting integrated with the entire building logic
- Motion and presence sensors – Lights turn on at the entrance to a zone and turn off after a pre-determined period of inactivity. In hallways, warehouses, garages, and restrooms, this is the fastest-paying automation solution in the entire building.
- Light intensity sensors (daylight harvesting) – The system smoothly dims window luminaires when there's sufficient daylight in the room and brightens them when the sun goes down. It maintains a constant, preset intensity level – the user doesn't notice the change, but the energy meter does.
- Schedules and timers - Morning illumination of office areas, dimming after working hours, weekend mode, cleaning service mode, display lighting of shop windows only during business hours.
- Calendar and Season - Scenes that follow sunrise and sunset instead of a fixed time - one in June, one in December.
- Linking with other systems - Alarm activated → turn off all lights. Alarm violated → 100% brightness on all segments. Room reservation in the calendar → "presentation" scene to start the meeting. Control of blinds and lighting as a single comfort scene.
- Energy response – Exceeded contractual power threshold → automatic reduction of lighting level in non-critical zones, instead of exceeding it and receiving a penalty from the distributor.
- Visualisation and remote control – Control screens in the DOMIQ Remote application: individual luminaires, zones, scenes, fault status – on your phone, tablet and wall panel, also from outside the building.
Jak zbudować instalację?
Start with DOMIQ Base 2.0, which manages all system logic. Then, select the number of DOMIQ DALI Light modules based on the size of your DALI installation.
Each DOMIQ DALI Light module supports one independent DALI segment—up to 64 addressable devices. As the installation grows, you add additional Light modules. All segments remain part of a single DOMIQ system and can interoperate with each other and other installations in the building.
1. DOMIQ Base 2.0
One central unit for the entire installation
DOMIQ Base 2.0 is responsible for the automation logic and allows you to connect DALI lighting with other building systems, including KNX, LCN, Modbus, BACnet, alarm, HVAC and energy management systems.
2. Select the number of DOMIQ DALI Light modules

The installation grows with the building
You don’t have to design a system with the maximum configuration right away. You can start with a single DALI segment and add additional DOMIQ Light modules as your facility expands.
Each subsequent module creates another DALI segment, but from the DOMIQ level the whole thing still works as one coherent control system.
Example:
The ground floor might be operating on the first DALI segment, the first floor on the second, and the office space on the third. Despite the physical division, you can turn off the entire building’s lighting with a single event, trigger a shared scene, or control selected zones independently of the segment.
One system instead of many independent installations
DALI is responsible for the lighting. DOMIQ connects it with the rest of the building.
This allows an event from one system to automatically trigger a response in another – for example, arming the alarm can turn off the light, a KNX sensor can change the DALI scene, and a schedule can activate the appropriate lighting throughout the facility.

Bidirectional:
A system that knows what's happening with light
This is DALI’s key advantage over traditional 0-10V control and standard dimmers. Classic control is unidirectional—it sends a command and has no idea what happened. With DALI, communication is bidirectional—it provides feedback from the lighting system: it reports the current light output level reported by DALI, reports ballast failures, and informs about power outages. This data flows directly into the system—for visualization, logic, and notifications.
- Wizualizacja pokazuje rzeczywisty stan opraw, a nie stan ostatnio wysłanej komendy
- Ballast failure reported with accuracy to a specific luminaire – service knows where to go
- Power outage of the luminaire is detected automatically, without having to go around the object
- Możliwość zbudowania powiadomień i raportów o stanie instalacji oświetleniowej
- Light status available to other system logic – “if the lights are on after hours in the zone, report it”

Co to daje Ci DOMIQ DALI Light w praktyce?
01
Segment-by-segment addressing
You address each segment automatically, independently of the others. You activate floor by floor as work progresses, without waiting for the entire installation.
02
Topology tailored to the installation
DALI Light modules are physically connected to Base 2.0. DALI buses can therefore descend to a single central distribution board, or each floor/zone can have its own DOMIQ Base 2.0 and the appropriate number of Light modules.
03
Global control over segments
A single event affects all 1,344 luminaires at once: turn off the entire building, load a global scene, and set the night level. Without sending commands to each segment individually.
04
Expansion without reconstruction
Kolejne piętro, kolejna hala, kolejny etap inwestycji — dokładasz moduł DOMIQ Light i segment wchodzi do istniejącej logiki. Nic nie trzeba konfigurować od nowa.
05
DT8 Support: RGB and Tunable White
The segments support both standard DALI ballasts and DT8 standard RGB color and color temperature (TC) control. This opens the door to stage lighting and enables the implementation of Tunable White, as well as scenes and installations designed in accordance with Human Centric Lighting principles.

NEW
Multiple DALI segments in one installation
Up to 21 segments. Up to 1,344 luminaires. One global control.
Previously, one DOMIQ DALI Light module meant one DALI line and 64 luminaires—perfect for a home or small office. The system update removes this limit.
DOMIQ DALI Light modules are physically connected to DOMIQ Base 2.0, so they should be located in the same location. For larger facilities, two approaches can be taken: route the DALI buses from individual zones to a single distribution board with DOMIQ Base 2.0 and Light modules, or use a separate Base 2.0 with the appropriate number of Light modules on each floor or section of the building.
Co dokładnie potrafi sterowanie?
Switching on and off without relays for each circuit
Control is achieved via a bus command, not by disconnecting the power supply. This eliminates the need for a row of relays in the switchboard, additional circuits, and some wiring—and with them, the actual cost of materials and labor.
Smooth dimming of each luminaire individually
DALI steruje jasnością cyfrowo, w pełnym zakresie regulacji oprawy — cyfrowe, precyzyjne i powtarzalne ściemnianie, bez brzęczenia ściemniaczy fazowych, bez dobierania obciążenia do transformatora. Każdy balast ma własny adres, więc możesz osobno ustawić jasność pojedynczej oprawy w rzędzie identycznych opraw — na przykład przyciemnić te przy oknie i rozjaśnić te w głębi pomieszczenia.
Groups - up to 16 per ballast
Each luminaire can belong to 16 groups simultaneously. The same luminaire can be part of a “conference room” group, a “general floor lighting” group, and a “window luminaires” group—controlled independently for three different purposes. The group is changed in the configuration, not in the distribution board.
Lighting scenes - up to 16 per ballast
A scene is a stored brightness level (and in DT8, also color) for an entire set of luminaires. “Presentation,” “Cleaning,” “Evening,” “Work,” “Exhibition”—a single command sets dozens of luminaires to their planned state in the same second.
Global control for all segments
You don’t have to run a single bus through the entire building. Segment = distribution board = zone, just as the electrical installation is designed anyway.
Color and color temperature (DT8)
For DT8 standard fixtures, you control not only the brightness, but also the color: RGB for decorative and display lighting, TC for smooth color temperature changes – cool light in the morning, warm in the evening, automatically depending on the time of day.

Check out the FAQ
How many luminaires can I connect to one system?
Do 64 balastów DALI na jeden moduł DOMIQ DALI Light (jeden segment) i do 21 segmentów w instalacji — łącznie do 1344 opraw sterowanych z jednego systemu.
What is the DALI segment?
A segment is a single DOMIQ DALI Light module with its connected ballasts. Each segment has its own independent addressing and can be controlled separately, but all segments are also controlled globally.
Can I control all segments at once?
Yes. Global control covers all segments simultaneously – with a single event, you can turn off the lights in the entire building or load a specific lighting scene everywhere.
Will DALI support RGB fixtures and variable color temperature?
Yes, if the ballasts implement the DT8 standard. The segments support both regular DALI ballasts and DT8 RGB color control and color temperature (TC).
Do I have to address each fixture manually?
No. The module addresses all 64 ballasts in a segment automatically with a single click and automatically detects newly connected luminaires. Manual addressing remains available if you require specific numbering.
How does the system know that the fixture is not working?
Two-way communication. The ballast reports its status—current brightness, malfunctions, and power outages. Information is sent to the system with pinpoint accuracy to a specific luminaire.
Do I need a separate lighting control system?
No. DALI operates within the DOMIQ system—the same system that handles heating, blinds, air conditioning, alarm, and energy monitoring. One control panel, one app, one logic.
Does this solution make sense in a single-family home?
Yes. One segment holds 64 fixtures—more than enough for most homes. You gain seamless dimming of each individual fixture, scenes, and full integration with the rest of the automation system, without expanding the distribution board with additional dimmers.
Can the installation be expanded in stages?
Yes. You add additional segments as needed—a new floor, a new hall, the next phase of the investment. The new segment fits into the existing logic without redesigning what’s already in place.
Can I connect lighting to motion and light intensity sensors?
Yes. This is one of the most common applications: dimming empty areas after a period of inactivity and smoothly adjusting brightness to the amount of daylight to maintain a constant level of intensity in the room.
What kind of switchboard do I need?
DOMIQ Base 2.0 central module.
