In this tutorial, we will present the process of pairing DOMIQ/Remote control applications with the DOMIQ/Base and DOMIQ/Base 2.0 modules, which is an essential step to gain full control over your smart installation from mobile devices.
1. Introduction #
Pairing the applications designed for controlling the installation is one of the first steps that must be taken after launching the DOMIQ Base 2.0 (Base) module. The DOMIQ system can be controlled via dedicated software:
- DOMIQ/Remote – an application for mobile devices running iOS (Apple) or Android.
Download the free DOMIQ/Remote app for iOS or Android using the link below or by scanning the QR code to manage your home from anywhere in the world:
1.1 Mobile Application and Device Licensing Principles #
We want your experience with the DOMIQ smart home system to be as simple and transparent as possible. Here is the essential information regarding system access from mobile devices:
- Free Application: The DOMIQ/Remote application, used for home control, is completely free of charge. You can download it at no cost from the App Store (for iOS) and Google Play (for Android).
- Starter License Included with the Module: Every purchased DOMIQ/Base module includes one free access license by default. This means that immediately after installation, you can pair one smartphone or tablet with your system and enjoy full control over your home.
- Expansion for Additional Devices: If you want more people to control the system (e.g., other household members on their phones), it is necessary to purchase additional pairing licenses for each subsequent mobile device.
- Where to buy? Licenses can be ordered directly from our Online Store or by sending an email to info@domiq.pl.
- Important! When purchasing pairing licenses, please make sure to provide the serial number of your Base module (you can find it on the housing label or in the Settings tab of the configurator).
Summary: The application itself for your phone is free, and you receive one access as a gift along with the Base server. If your needs grow, the DOMIQ system allows for flexible purchasing of additional access slots at any time.
2. Prerequisites #
The device with the installed application must be located within the same local network (LAN) as the Base module. IMPORTANT! For security reasons, it is impossible to pair a device from outside the local network. Before proceeding with the pairing process, make sure that your smartphone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network where the module is visible.
3. Step-by-Step Pairing Procedure #
- Launch the application: After opening the DOMIQ/Remote app, the module search view will be displayed by default. Modules in the local network are detected automatically.
- Select the module: Click on the name of the Base module you want to establish a connection with.

- Logging into the Configurator and Generating a Code: Open any web browser and type the IP address of your Base module (e.g., 192.168.1.100) into the address bar to connect to the configuration interface. After logging in successfully, go to the Settings tab and then click the Generate code button.
Tip: The generated 4-digit code is one-time use only and remains valid for only 15 minutes.

In newer Base 2.0 modules, access is significantly simplified thanks to the mDNS standard, which allows for connection without knowing the IP address.
- In your browser’s address bar, type:
domiq-serial_number.local(e.g., if the serial number is AABBCC, typedomiq-aabbcc.local). - You can also use a personalized name if it has been previously assigned in the settings (e.g.,
module-name.local).
4. Authorization: Enter the received code into the field displayed on the mobile application screen.

5. Finalization: After entering the code correctly, the application will automatically complete the pairing process and download the current interface configuration.

4. Connection Security #
User security is our top priority. All connections between the control applications and the Base module are fully encrypted. This applies to both communication within the home network and remote access via the Internet.
5. Managing Paired Devices #
All information regarding paired devices (name, unique ID, date added) as well as access management (e.g., unpairing or assigning to profiles) is available in the configurator under the Settings > App Authorizations tab.
