The ability to integrate with external automation systems and third-party software is one of the key features of the DOMIQ system. Thanks to its use of various protocols and communication standards, the Base module acts as a universal integration platform, allowing information to be exchanged between subsystems, which in turn enables the use of shared user interfaces and the creation of advanced control algorithms.
The Integrations Tab (Base 2.0)
#
In the latest software versions, a dedicated Integrations tab has been introduced in the DOMIQ Base 2.0 module’s configurator.
This section brings together all the integration settings that, in older versions of the system, were located in the Settings tab. Each integrated system now has its own, clear configuration view, which significantly simplifies the process of connecting devices from different manufacturers.
“One-click” automation and intelligent interface generation. In the DOMIQ system’s configurator, based on the Base 2.0 module, the process of deploying smart features and integrating external devices has undergone a revolution. Thanks to the Integrations tab, what used to be a complicated configuration has been replaced by intuitive, “click and done” mechanisms.
Modern standards and security
#
Access via mDNS: Integrations can now be configured by accessing the module using its name (e.g. domiq-numer_seryjny.local), eliminating the need to check its IP address.
TLS protocol support: Base 2.0 supports encrypted TLS connections, enabling secure integration with modern cloud-based systems and services requiring authentication.
40x higher performance: Base 2.0 offers higher performance, allowing it to reliably handle many complex integrations simultaneously without delays in the Remote interface. A system for automatically collecting diagnostic logs has also been added, making it easier to service connected subsystems.
1. LCN #
LCN – An option that lets you disable the LCN interface in the Base module. A module restart is required for the changes to take effect. When this field is checked (the default), the LCN interface is running.
After clicking the “Configure” option in the Integrations tab, the following options are available for the LCN module:
- ID – The identifier (Node ID) within the LCN address domain. Default value: 254.
- Segment: Only required when using Base as an LCN segment coupler. Enter the number of the segment for which Base acts as the coupler.
- Events from other segments – Check this field if Base should receive events from other LCN segments (only when the Base module is acting as a segment coupler). Checking this field also means that the state of modules from other LCN segments will be visible in the State tab.
- Visible modules: This field lets you restrict the pool of LCN modules that DOMIQ Base communicates with. It should only be filled in when actually necessary. In standard installations, this generally isn’t required. Filling in this field incorrectly will result in partial or complete loss of communication between the Base module and the LCN installation. Two formats are accepted:
- Individual module numbers separated by commas.
- Groups of modules, e.g. 1-10, 20-31.
- Time synchronization: Determines how often DOMIQ Base will send a time synchronization command to the LCN modules. Available options:
- Off
- 5 min
- 15 min
- 1 hour
- Retrieve comments from LCN modules – Disabling this option significantly speeds up scanning of the LCN bus. In tests we conducted, on an installation with 170 LCN modules, disabling comments reduced the installation scan time from 30 to 9 minutes!
- 200-level mode – This option should be checked if the LCN modules have been programmed for 200-level dimming mode. If the installation includes older-generation modules (which do not support 200-level dimming), the entire installation should be reprogrammed for 50-level dimming.
NOTE! If an LCN module is programmed for 200-level dimming but the 200-level mode option is not enabled, the “on” command will drive the dimmer to 25%. This is a typical symptom indicating that this option needs to be enabled. - Monitor motor position – Enable this if you’re using positioning motors and want the Base module to regularly poll the LCN modules for motor position (this increases the load on the LCN bus).
- Scan LCN bus – A button that initiates a manual scan of the LCN bus. Rescanning the bus is important whenever changes are made to the LCN modules’ configuration.
2. Satel #
- Retrieve comments from the Satel control panel – disabling this option speeds up data retrieval from the Satel alarm control panel.
- Satel ETHM – Enable this option to activate integration with the Satel Integra alarm control panel via the ETHM-1 Plus or ETHM-1 module.
- License key – Paste your purchased license number into this field.
- IP – The IP address of the Satel ETHM-1 Plus/ETHM-1 module
- Port – The communication port for the Satel integration protocol. Default value: 7094.
- Pin – The alarm panel’s PIN. This is required to read certain data from the panel, including user names. This functionality is used to generate logs of events from the panel.
- Event log period – Determines the number of days for which logs are retrieved from the alarm control panel. Default value: 2.
- License key – Paste your purchased license number into this field.
3. Espirio #
- Add/Delete – add or remove another Espirio device
- Name – enter a unique name for the sensor being added
- IP – enter the sensor’s address
